PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for casting into a mold of a continuous casting equipment, having one slit, wherein blockage of the slit during casting can be prevented and a flow deviation phenomenon can be prevented at the same time. SOLUTION: In this immersion nozzle for continuous casting, a left discharging hole 4 and a right discharging hole 3 are symmetrically arranged at the lower part of a side wall, and one slit 5 is arranged at the bottom in a way that one end reaches the right discharging hole 3 and the other end reaches the left discharging hole 4. Casting is performed using such an immersion nozzle for continuous casting that the relationship of slit long side length W [mm] and slit short side length S [mm] satisfies the formula: 3<=W/S<=10 or the relationship of slit short side length S [mm] and discharging hole diameter d [mm] satisfies the formula: 0.1<=S/d<=0.5. Furthermore, it is more preferable that casting is performed while inert gas is blown.
