PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition that is cold-curable with improved weather resistance without adverse effect on the excellent adhesion and anticorrosion properties of epoxy resin coating layers and is suitable for coating purposes. SOLUTION: The objective resin composition for coating is prepared by allowing (a) an epoxy resin bearing one or more epoxy groups in one molecule to react with (b) a compound bearing one or more carboxyl groups in one molecule and (c) an organopolysiloxane bearing an alkoxy group that directly bonds to the silicon atom. In this case, an amino group-beating compound selected from an aliphatic or alicyclic amine adduct, an aliphatic or alicyclic Mannich base, an aliphatic or alicyclic ketimine and an amino group-bearing silane-coupling agent is added so that the active hydrogen atoms of this amino group may become 0.4-1.5 equivalent per 1 equivalent of the epoxy group in the resin composition.
