PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material for packing, capable of being easily assembled. SOLUTION: Each of side sheets 32a, 32b is joined to the side of each of both sides of a central base 31 and is folded at first folding parts 41a to 44b, respectively, to be formed into the hollow shape of a quadrangularly prismatic member. Each of trapezoidal portions 71a to 72b is folded at second folding parts 51a to 53b to be formed as a holding portion for holding a product, respectively. Each of forward ends 33a, 33b is joined to the outer side of each of the side sheets 32a, 32b, respectively, and, in the state that the corrugated board is folded in two by respectively folding both the side sheets 32a, 32b at the first folding parts 42a, 42b, the forward ends 33a, 33b are stuck to the central base 31, respectively. In assembling a cushioning material, both the side sheets 32a, 32b of the corrugated board in the folded state are held by both hands and, while the trapezoidal portions 72a, 72b are being pressed so as to raise the side sheets 32a, 32b, both the side sheets are folded at the first folding parts 41a to 44b, respectively.
