PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct the tracking of a recording medium, on which tracking grooves are difficult to make, to conduct a high density recording/reproducing using an SIL for a high density pickup and to simplify the constitution of the device by commonly using a moving means. SOLUTION: An information recording medium is formed by pasting together a low density disk 601, which is provided with tracking grooves on its surface, and a high density disk 602 having no tracking groove on its surface. Pickup moving means 605 and 606, which respectively mount low and high density pickups 603 and 604, are moved by the signals generated by a low density disk position detecting means 608, low and high density disk head moving signal generating means 609 and 610. Information, which controls the medium, and read-only information are recorded on the substrate 601 having tracking grooves. |
