PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately obtain a picture signal of high resolution by providing a picture signal processor with a pixel generation means for generating a pixel having a color component different from at least the color component included in a remarked pixel on the basis of a class determined by a class determination step or the like. SOLUTION: A gamma correction part 24 corrects a signal level of a picture signal whose white balance is adjusted by a white balance adjustment part 23 in accordance with a gamma curve. The picture signal gamma corrected by the gamma correction part 24 is supplied to a prediction processing part 25. The prediction processing part 25 extracts a plurality of pixels existing near a remarked pixel in each remarked pixel of an input picture signal from the input picture signal and determines a class on the basis of a color component of the pixel having the highest density out of plural extracted pixels. Then class sorting adaptive processing for generating the pixel having the color component different from the color component included in the remarked pixel on the position of the remarked pixel on the basis of the determined class is applied to generate a picture signal.
