摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high speed recording characterized by low price, reduced environmental effect and high reliability by bringing a recrystallization upper limit linear velocity of a recording layer into a specified range. SOLUTION: The recrystallization upper limit linear velocity of the recording layer is brought into a range of 5.0-10.0 m/s. This optical recording medium comprises a first dielectric layer 2, a recording layer 3, a second dielectric layer 4, a metal or alloy layer 5 and an overcoat layer 6 disposed on a substrate 1 having a guide groove. The substrate is prepared usually of glass, ceramic or resin. Among them, a resin substrate is favorable from the point of molding and cost performance. As examples of resin, polycarbonate resin, acrylic resin, epoxy resin, polystyrene resin, acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer resin, polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, silicone resin, fluororesin, ABS resin and urethane resin can be named. Among them, the polycarbonate resin and the acrylic resin which are excellent in moldability, optical characteristics and cost performance are preferable.
