PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube device effectively correcting the pin-cushion distortion of a picture that occurs when a horizontal deflection magnetic field is brought close to a uniform magnetic field by providing a convergence correcting means. SOLUTION: In this color cathode-ray tube device, a convergence correcting means for bringing a deflection magnetic field deflecting in a first axial direction close to a uniform magnetic field is made up of convergence correcting coil 30a, 30b disposed between the cathode of an electron gun and the center of a deflection yoke 10, a current supplying circuit 31 for supplying the convergence correcting coils 30a, 30b with a parabolic current synchronized with the deflections in the first axial direction, and a current modulating circuit 32 for modulating the parabolic current into a modulated current varying in synchronization with deflections in a second axial direction, thereby correcting the pin-cushion distortion in the second axial direction of a phosphor screen.
