发明名称 PRODUCTION OF HOLOGRAM AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the production yield without influenced by vibration or disturbance of air and to easily obtain a hologram of high quality by disposing a transmission type hologram produced only with diffused light between a polarizing plate and a reflection plate. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal cell 6 is interposed between polarizing plates 7, 8, a transmission type hologram 9 is adhered to the polarizing plate 8 on the back face, and a reflection plate 10 is disposed on the back face. The incident light is converted into linearly polarized light by the polarizing plate 7 and enters the liquid crystal cell 6. The linearly polarized light passes as it is in a region where a voltage is applied between the transparent electrodes 11, 12, but does not pass the polarizing plate 8 on the back because the transmission axis of the back face polarizing plate 8 is shifted by about 90 deg. from that of the polarizing plate on the front face. Thus, this region appears as a black color. In the region where no voltage is applied, the incident linearly polarized light is twisted by about 90 deg. in the liquid crystal layer and the polarization direction becomes coincident with the transmission axis of the polarizing plate 8 which is shifted by 90. Thus, the light transmits, then the light is regularly reflected by a reflecting plate 10, and exits to the liquid crystal layer at a different angle from the incident light. Thus, a bright display is obtd, in a different direction from that of the surface reflection and an easily visible display can be obtd.
