PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system to reduce an overhead such as interruption to a CPU in the case of sending/receiving a data packet on a high- speed network. SOLUTION: In the ease of receiving an IP fragment, interruption is limited to only the case when a fragment in an IP packet having already given interruption and no succeeding fragment is inexistence or when an IP fragment having an IP identifier succeeding to an IP identifier to be possessed by a succeeding reception packet is received so as to remarkably reduce the occurrence of interruption when no packet is missing or there is not error in the reception sequence, and the reception processing is not unnecessarily awaited by increasing properly the occurrence of interruption when the packet missing or the error in the reception sequence is in existence. That is, it is possible to reduce meaningless interruption. Furthermore, transmission is controlled on the basis of a table 152 in which a flow for each destination is described for each time zone so as to suppress useless transmission in the case that a speed of a receiver side network adaptor 120 is known in advance or the like and data with a proper flow can be sent to the network.
