A multi-section strand guide roller, having a roller section (30) with journals (31, 32) or recesses at both ends for mating with recesses (25, 45) or journals of adjacent roller sections, is new. A multi-section guide roller, for a continuous casting machine, has adjacent flush sections (20, 30, 40) joined by journals (31, 32; 22, 41) carrying support bearings (33, 34), each journal engaging in a recess of an adjacent roller section. The novelty is that a roller section (30), having an adjacent roller section (20, 40) at each side, is provided at both ends either with journals (31, 32) engaging in recesses (25, 45) of the adjacent roller sections (20, 40) or with recesses for receiving journals of the adjacent roller sections.
