Injection molding tool manufacture by making a negative mold from a positive master and mounting in a cassette mold. A three-dimensional CAD (computer aided design) model is produced and the data use in a rapid prototyping process for creation of a positive master. The master is placed in a molding box and a cold curing mineral casting material is poured around it to create a initially a female die and a male punch forming the negative of the product. After coating to improve physical properties the tool is mounted in a universal cassette mold on an injection molding machine.
