PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the pressure loss of refrigerant vapor in a vertical absorber to improve the performance of the absorber. SOLUTION: The pressure loss at the time when refrigerant vapor which has been introduced into a vertical absorber from an evaporator flows into an absorbing pipe is reduced. Concretely, at a height lined with the upper end parts of a plurality of heat transfer tubes 7A having the upper parts projecting upwards of partitioning plates 7E arranged approximately horizontally having the axes arranged in an approximately vertical direction, a cap 70 which has an opening 70A with a size approximately equal to that of the outer diameter of the heat transfer tube 7A formed by burring work at a position corresponding to the plane arrangement of the heat transfer tubes 7A is approximately horizontally arranged with a flange formed by the burring work in the heat transfer tube 7A side, and the upper end part of the heat transfer tube 7A is fitted into the flange part.
