PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing the coating film of an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is capable of precisely and rapidly subjecting the surface to be removed of the coating film at the bottom end of a cylindrical substrate coated and formed with a photoconductive layer on its surface by a dip coating application method to removement to a desired size range. SOLUTION: This device has a clamping mechanism 8 which hangs down and lifts the cylindrical substrate 1 formed with the photoconductive layer by the dip coating method, a turnable mounting base 5 which is disposed with an inside surface wiping body 4a and outside surface wiping body 4b for removing the unnecessary coating film adhered to the bottom end of the cylindrical substrate 1 and a supporting shaft 7 which is erected through a shaft hole 5a perpendicularly toward the center of the clamping mechanism 8. A guide mechanism 3 capable of displacing the mounting base 5, in such a manner that the cylindrical shaft of the hung down cylindrical substrate 1 and the revolving shaft of the mounting base 5 are aligned, is disposed in superposition on the mounting base 5 in abutment on the inside surface of the cylindrical substrate 1. The front ends of the respective wiping bodies are precisely brought into contact with the surface to be removed of the coating film of the cylindrical substrate 1.
