PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, highly stable, and self-standing tempura guard which can be cleaned easily when the guard becomes dirty, can be used for various sizes of ranges, and does not interrupt the operation of a source-cock for gas. SOLUTION: A tempura guard composed of four stainless steel sheets is constituted of first and fourth steel sheets 1 and 4 having vertical slits 5 near their end sections, and second and third steel sheets 2 and 3 having cut-off lower half sections on one sides and vertical slits 7 near their end sections on the opposite side. The first and second sheets 1 and 2 are respectively combined with the third and fourth sheets 3 and 4 in crossing states and set up at the corner sections of a range in self-standing states.
