PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color converter that efficiently converts colors while reducing a memory capacity in the case of converting a color signal expressed by converting a color signal represented by a color representation system into another color representation system through the use of a cubic interpolation technology. SOLUTION: A conversion parameter calculation section 11 stores a conversion parameter corresponding to a coordinate position included in a cubic partial space the side of which is w/2 (w is the lattice spacing) in a conversion parameter storage section 12, and lattice point specification section 14 receiving a value L*a*b* that is an input color uses a color conversion table 13 to specify the coordinates in the lattice space and an in-lattice coordinate calculation section 15 calculates the coordinates. Then a conversion parameter retrieval section 16 retrieves conversion parameters based on the conversion parameter retrieved from a conversion parameter storage section 12 and an interpolation arithmetic section 17 applies interpolation to an output of the retrieval section 16 to output a CMY values corresponding to the value L*a*b*.
