PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten protective clothing wearable in handling a very low- temperature liquid. SOLUTION: In this heat insulating protective clothing 10, an air bag 15 is attachable to and detachable from the inside of a protective clothing 11 having durability to a very low temperature and high temperature. The air bag 15 has a shape of covering human trunk parts such as chest part and abdominal part of body, is inserted into a pocket 13 and can be fixed by a Hook-and- Loop fastener 14. Since the air bag is lightweight and a gas layer in the interior has an preferable heat insulating effect, the air bag effectively protects a wearer of the heat-insulating protective clothing 10. Generally the air bag 15 is not expanded and is made to expand in the occurrence of a sudden leakage accident, an ordinary operation in wearing the heat-insulating protective clothing 10 can be readily carried out.
