PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting device having a simple construction and making lifting work easier and safer without damaging the inner wall surfaces of the U-shaped gutter. SOLUTION: This device comprises a pair of upper arm portions 5 coupled to a lifting portion rotatably, a pair of lower arm portions 6 coupled rotatably and by intersecting respectively to the bottom ends of both the upper arm portions 5, a link mechanism 4 consisting of a coupling plate 7 hinged rotatably to both the bottom ends of lower arm portions separated, and pressure contact portions 10 provided to the outer side of both the lower arm portions 6. By the elongated deformation in a vertical direction due to self-weight of the link mechanism 4, the pressure contact portions 10 are extended in an external direction and the inner wall surface of the U-shaped gutter is pushed.
