PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding shape steel which can further heighten work efficiency by providing a thickness reduced part which has a smaller thickness than that of the other parts on a part of a web part of a U-shaped steel sheet pile, a channel steel, a wide-flange shaped steel, an I-shaped steel or a Z-shaped steel sheet pile. SOLUTION: At the post-stage of intermediate rolling, rolling is performed by a grooved roll having projecting parts corresponding to the position of a thickness reduced part WG and the shape of a cutout part to manufacture a U-shaped steel sheet pile 51. In the case of manufacturing a building structure member 4 using the U-shaped steel sheet pile 51, the U-shaped steel sheet pile 51 is gas-cut at the thickness reduced part WG provided in a part of a web part W, and two-split shape steel pieces 2 are welded to both ends of a steel plate 3 to manufacture the building structure member 4. Thus, the U-shaped steel sheet pile 51 having the thickness reduced part having a smaller thickness than the other parts in a part of the web part W is used, so that the thickness reduced part WG is cut to accelerate cutting. Further, as the thickness reduced part WG has a groove part WK which becomes a groove at the time of welding, edge preparation is not needed so as to heighten work efficiency.
