PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sintered compact stable in coefficient of shrinkage in the case of sintering by sintering the powder which is obtained by granulating slurry, prepared by using water as a solvent, of a ceramic raw material by a spray drying method and the rate of change in whose weight in the case of storing in the specific relative humidity for one day is a specific percentage or low. SOLUTION: The ceramic sintered compact excellent in processability is obtained by sintering such granulated powder of ceramic raw material that the rate of change in its weight when stored in 10-40% relative humidity for one day is 0.5% or low. The production method of the ceramic-granulated powder comprises preparing the slurry by mixing the ceramic powder such as pulverized beta-alumina starting powder, lithium acetate, a binder and a dispersant in water and making the prepared slurry into granulated powder by the spray drying method. The beta-alumina is preferably applicable as the ceramic for producing granulated powder because of good water absorbing property and other ceramics such as alpha-alumina, silicon nitride and aluminum nitride can be desirably applicable. These ceramics can be used for producing a ceramic compact and a ceramic sintered compact at good yield. |
