发明名称 DIGITAL AUDIO BIT ALLOCATION METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE: A method is provided to achieve a rapid bit allocation by calculating a bit amount required for each band by subtracting or adding a predetermined sound pressure level from or to a value of pseudo signal-to-mask ratio(P-SMR) when the required bit amount is larger than the bit amount to be allocated. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of setting a value of P-SMR by subtracting a value of sound pressure level from SMR value of each band, calculating bit amount required for each band based on the set P-SMR value, and setting the total bit amount by adding the calculated bit amount. If the total bit amount is smaller than the bit amount to be allocated, P-SMR value for each band is increased. If the total bit amount is larger than the bit amount to be allocated, P-SMR value for each band is decreased so as to re-calculate the required bit amount. The re-calculated bit amount is compared with the bit amount to be allocated. If the re-calculated is within a predetermined range, bits are allocated through a conventional bit allocation method, thereby achieving rapid bit allocation.
