PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately position and fit a cross prism to a base and to reduce the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: As for the end surface 12a of the cross prism 12 for liquid crystal projector on the side of the base 14, an end surface 21a of a 1st right- angled prism 21 is projected from end surfaces 22a, 23a, and 24a of other right- angled prisms 21, 22, and 24. This end surface 21a is made to abut against a support surface 27 of the base 14 and on the basis of this abutting part, the cross prism 12 is supported on the base 14. The spaces between the end surfaces 22a, 23a, and 24a are filled with ultraviolet-ray setting resin pieces 32, 33, and 33. The cross prism 12 can easily and accurately be positioned and fixed at a desired position without being slanted even when the end surfaces 21a, 22a, 23a, and 24a of the right-angled prisms 21, 22, 23, and 24 are not formed accurately on the same plane. |
