<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To warrant impartial distribution between available bit rate(ABR) connections passing the same ATM exchange consisting of a plurality of cell buffers. SOLUTION: Each of input side cell buffer sections 10 monitors a logic queue length inside each cell buffer, writes logic queue length information to an idle field of an RM cell of an IRM cell and transfers the written cell to output side cell buffer sections 30. Each of the output side cell buffer sections 30 is provided with a unit that calculates each congestion state depending on the logic queue length information from each of the input side cell buffer sections 10 to discriminate an input side buffer section that is most congested. Each of the output side cell buffer sections 30 is provided with a unit that calculates a congestion state of the output side cell buffer section itself on the basis of the logic queue length information and also with a unit that compares congestion information of each input side cell buffer section, the congestion information of the output side cell buffer section and congestion information included in the RM cell, sets the most congested information among the three to the RM cell and provides an output.</p> |
