PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a wide nip part is formed, the heat capacity of a member opposed to a rotary member for heat-ray fixing is lowered and a color image formed by color toner can quickly thermally be fixed. SOLUTION: The roll-like rotary member for heat-ray fixing 17a is formed by being provided with a heat-ray irradiation means for emitting heat rays, a cylindrical light-transmissive substrate 171a having the heat-ray irradiation means inside and light transmissivity with respect to the heat rays, a light- transmissive elastic layer 171d or a light transmissive heat insulating layer 171e having the light transmissivity with respect to the heat rays and a heat-ray absorbing layer absorbing the heat rays outside the layer 171d or the layer 171e. Besides, two rollers 47a and 47b whose diameters are smaller than the rotary member 17a are arranged by being opposed to the rotary member 17a as the members opposed to the rotary member 17a.
