摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an energy loss caused by a leakage current based on capacitance by forming a light reflection film in such a way that directions of rotation of liquid crystal molecules in laminated liquid crystal layers are identical and their molecular helical axes cross the liquid crystal layers in the thickness direction. SOLUTION: The light reflection film 10 is constructed by laminating a first and a second liquid crystal layers 14, 16 having cholesteric regularity on both surfaces of a half-wavelength layer 12. Directions of rotation of liquid crystal molecules in the respective liquid crystal layers are identical. The respective liquid crystal layers are formed in such a way that their molecular helical axes cross the liquid crystal layers in the thickness direction. Either right or left circularly polarized light out of incident light from the first liquid crystal layer 14 side, for example the right circularly polarized light R, is reflected and the left circularly polarized light L is transmitted, however, in the half-wavelength layer 12, the direction of rotation of the left circularly polarized light L is reversed to change into right circularly polarized light R and reflected by the second liquid crystal layer 16. The light passes through the half-wavelength layer 12, changes into a left circularly polarized light L, passes through the first liquid crystal layer 14 and is emitted in the same direction as the reflected right circularly polarized light R. No phase shift of the reflected light relative to the incident light occurs.
