PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light emission efficiency. SOLUTION: In this display device which emits light from an emission light source held between electrodes by applying voltage between pixel electrodes 15 disposed in each pixel 11 and electrodes 19 facing the pixel electrodes, the emission light source is formed into a spot or linear shape determined on the basis of the form of the pixel electrode or the counter electrode, and a light condensing means to condense the light emitted from the emission light source is disposed. The light condensing means consists of, for example, a lens array 20 or a part 9 of the counter electrode which is embedded in a recess and which is a transparent electrode having a higher refractive index than the surrounding part.
