PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive signal processor the operation speed of which is improved by simplifying its signal processing work. SOLUTION: A signal processor 10 measures the width of an object to be inspected in such a way that the processor 10 separates the image signals of the object picked up with a CCD(charge coupled device) camera 4 into synchronizing signals and video signals by means of a signal separating circuit 11, controls the timing signal necessary for extracting central horizontal signals with the separated synchronizing signal by means of a timing controller 12, and extracts one central horizontal signal based on the timing signal outputted from the controller 12 by means of a central horizontal signal extracting circuit 13. Then the processor 10 binarizes the extracted central horizontal signal by means of a binarizing circuit 14, detects the edges of the binarized central horizontal signal from bright to dark and from dark to bright by means of a measurement circuit 15, and measures the width of the object by measuring the interval between the detected edges by means of the circuit 15. |
