Catalysts for the preparation of fluorinated alcohols, prepared by making at least one member selected from among Group 1B, 2B, 6A, 7A and 8 elements of the periodic table, ions of the elements, oxides containing the elements, hydroxides containing the elements and salts containing the elements supported on at least one member selected from among Si-Al, Al-P and Si-Al-P double oxides; and a process for the preparation of fluorinated alcohols, characterized by reacting a halogenated fluorine compound with water in the presence of the catalyst. The process makes it possible to prepare fluorinated alcohols at relatively low reaction temperature in high yield. |
