The decorative figure (1) consists of a wooden basic body (2). A groove in the basic body corresponds to the shape of an apron and into which a strip is inserted (4) flush with the surface of the basic body. After the strip is fixed into the groove by means of glue, the natural wood is turned, polished and varnished. The strip's outer shape is congruent with the inner shape of the groove. The strip consists of an different wood from that of the basic body or of soft stone.
