An estimation unit (55) estimates the fuel characteristic of used fuel based on input-output data which are the fuel supply and exhaust air-fuel ratio. When a decision unit judges that the exhaust air-fuel ratio in an area fluctuates due to factors other than the fuel characteristic, a prohibition unit (57) prevents sampling of the input-output data. An Independent claim is also included for a fuel supply control apparatus.
