PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling transplanter having solved such a problem that, in a seedling transplanter of conventional constitution, when soil covering press wheels receive a ground contact pressure in excess of an upper limit position, the soil covering press wheels are supported on the ground and pushed up by force, a defective traveling is caused by rising of traveling wheels and the damage to the soil covering press wheels themselves occurs by accident. SOLUTION: This seedling transplanter is constituted of a vehicle body 1A which is equipped with soil covering press wheels 8 for pressing soil while covering planted seedlings with soil at the circumferences of the seedlings and with a seedling planting apparatus 6 and is controllable in rise and fall to have a fixed height from the ground based on the detected result of a ground sensor 35 adaptable to the change of unevenness of the surface of seedling planted field. The body is raised by a prescribed lifting action or more of the soil covering press wheels 8.
