PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial kidney capable of purifying blood whether in a house or on a trip without requiring a large amount of dialyzate or replenishment liquid. SOLUTION: An extracorporeal circulatory system 3 connected to an intracorporeal circulatory system is provided with a filter 6 for filtering blood sampled from the body and taking out waste-containing water as raw urine, a distiller 7 for distilling the raw urine to reclaim distilled water and for discharging the raw urine enriched with wastes, and a purified blood mixer 10 for diluting an enrichment replenishment liquid to a predetermined concentration with the distilled water and for mixing the liquid with the blood from which the raw urine has been eliminated by the filter 6, and returning the mixture into the body. Since the enrichment replenishment liquid is diluted with the distilled water obtained by distilling of the raw urine, the need to replenish a large amount of dialyzate is eliminated, and a user can purify blood by himself or herself during sleeping hours or the like whether in a house or on a trip. |
