PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the amount of uptake of calcium and magnesium and to efficiently avoid calcium deficiency and magnesium deficiency by coating the surface of particle containing a potassium fertilizer and an alkaline earth metal compound with a coating material. SOLUTION: The surface of a core material particle containing 20-99.9 wt.%, preferably 50-99 wt.% of potassium fertilizer and 0.1-80 wt.%, preferably 1-50 wt.% of an alkaline earth metal compound is coated with a coating material to form a coated granule. A polyethylene, an ethylene/propylene copolymer, a vinylidened chloride/vinyl chloride copolymer, etc., are used as the coating material. The coating material may be formulated with an organic or inorganic filler and a surfactant. Potassium sulfate, potassium chloride, etc., are used as the potassium fertilizer. Magnesium sulfate, magnesium lignisulfonate, etc., are used as the alkaline earth metal compound. The particle diameter of the core material particle is preferably about 1.5-4.0 mm and the thickness of the coating film is preferably about 10-100μm relative to the core material particle of the particle diameter.
