PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to impart a pitch bending function to the above musical instrument without providing the instrument with the manipulating elements to be exclusively used and to displace pitch displacement positions with the manipulating sensation similar to that of the manipulating elements to be exclusively used which are capable of changing the pitch displacement positions according to manipulated variables in particular. SOLUTION: The functions as the pitch bending manipulating elements are previously allocated to the specific keys of a keyboard 1. These keys are three kinds of raising the pitch, lowering the pitch and restoring the raised or lowered pitch to the original pitch and are set with the pitch displacement quantities varying with each of the respective keys. A pitch displacement section 27 detects the manipulation information on these keys and displaces the pitch by outputting an added displacement quantity (cent data). The allocated keys are effective as the pitch bending manipulating elements only in the case the keys are assigned by a pitch bend function assigning section 32. The keys are subjected to ordinary sound production processing according to the key touch manipulation when there is no assignment.
