A modified glucose dehydrogenase characterized in that, in water soluble glucose dehydrogenase accompanied by pyrrolo-quinoline quinone as a coenzyme , one or more amino acid residues in a specific region has been substituted by other amino acid residue(s). This modified PQQGDH has an improved affinity f or glucose.
