<p>The invention provides apparatus (10) for use in the transportation of goods. The apparatus (10) includes a base (12) and a container (14) mounted on the base (12) for displacement relative thereto between a rest position and a discharge position. The apparatus (10) further includes displacement means in the form of hydraulic rams (44) for displacing the container (14) relative to the base (12). In addition, the apparatus (10) includes a guide arrangement in the form of a pair of guide channels (48) and rollers (50) mounted on the container (14) for displacement along the channels (48). The guide arrangement is configured such that as the container is displaced laterally by the rams (44) it is caused to tilt to permit the discharge of the contents of the container through an open side wall thereof.</p> |
