PURPOSE: A voice mouse system for the blind is provided to search information from various fields in order to improve ability of the blind and to participate in a society. CONSTITUTION: The operating configuration of a voice mouse system is composed of a hand scanner(130) as an input device, a voice mouse(10) and a keyboard(130). An output system is comprised of a speaker or a headphone and a monitor. The internal configuration of the voice mouse(10), composed of programs to support the voice mouse system, is equipped to carry out various functions, such as file selection, sentence search, foreign language translation, etc., with 17 buttons. The voice mouse(10) is provided so that the blind can select files and find out the location of a search sentence through voice. The voice mouse carries out a main adjustment function for the use of the computer.
