PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct media white, while maintaining the color balance of an image so as to make the whitest color coincide with media white all the times, even when color matching is performed between whatever kinds of media. SOLUTION: In this medial white correcting method, in a media white correcting part 20, an operation processing part 22 decides each component of a color value showing media white inputted in advance so as to be able to perform media white correction without breaking color balance, performs processing that multiplies coefficients k1 to k3 stored in a storing part 23, and the part 23 stores a color value showing media white multiplied by a coefficient by the part 22. Also, a conversion processing part 24 performs processing that divides a color value corresponding to each pixel of an image inputted from an inputting part 10 by the value stored in the part 23.
