SOLUTION: When data 1 and data 2 are stored in a memory, whether the width size, etc., of the data 2 are within a prescribed range or not is first checked (steps 370 to 378). If the data 2 is the data of the prescribed range, the data is decided to be the longitudinal register mark (step 380). In the case of the data 1 alone or when the data 2 is decided not to be the longitudinal register mark, whether the width size, etc., of the data 1 are within a permissible range or not is checked (steps 382 to 388). If the data is within the permissible range, the data 1 is decided to be the longitudinal register mark (step 390).
