PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely detect, in an early stage, a recording wrapped round a heat roller, by detecting the entry of an inclusion between the heat roller and a temperature sensor in the case a decrease in a value detected by the temperature sensor continues for a fixed period of time. SOLUTION: In the case a recording material 6 enters a gap between a heat roller 1 and a switch 5 without touching the switch 5, the recording material 6 becomes wrapped round the heat roller 1 in close contact with the surface of the heat roller 1 as the heat roller 1 rotates, and the recording material 6 enters between a temperature sensor 4 and the heat roller 1 while remaining wrapped round it. A temperature detected by a temperature sensor 4 during ordinary printing has a temperature decrease due to the taking of heat by the recording material 6. At the time, the temperature decrease in the temperature sensor 4 is detected, and in the case it is continuously detected for a specific period of time or longer, a control means judges that the recording material 6 has entered between the temperature sensor 4 and heat roller 1. Consequently the rotation of the heat roller 1 is stopped as a wrap error and the heat generation of a heat lamp 2 is immediately stopped.
