PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a unit with a facsimile function by which a header suitable for a transmission destination can be added to a document. SOLUTION: The unit is provided with a storage means 129 that stores a plurality of kinds of headers as data, a transmission destination code entry means CPU 1 by which an operator enters a transmission destination code denoting a transmission destination of a document, a transmission destination classification means CPU 5 that uses the centered transmission destination code to classify the transmission destination represented by the transmission destination code according to a prescribed classification, and a header selection means CPU 5 that selects a header among the headers stored in a storage means 129 depending on the classification to which the transmission destination belongs.
