The coordinate systems for town maps have a central point and are formed by concentric circles. They are divided into 60 segments similar to the minutes on a clock face. Points of the compass are expressed by minutes and colors (North = blue = 0'; East = yellow/green = 15'; South = orange = 30'; West = red-violet = 45', plus all intermediate directions. The central point corresponds always to the most notable building in the town. From each coordinate the exact position of an object in position relationship to the central point can be read (Km./Min.). This corresponds to the distance from the central point in Km./compass direction in which the object lies, viewed from the central point. On each map sheet, it is immediately possible to recognize in which part of the town the observer is located.
