PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling roll made of a composite material the surface of which is hard and has wear resistance and contrarily the interior has high strength. SOLUTION: In the roll part 12 comprising the rolling roll 10, a metal-rich metallic part 20 is provided in the interior of the roll, a ceramic-rich ceramic part 22 is provided on the surface of the roll. Between them, a gradient part 24 where the rate of a metal component is gradually decreased as advancing from the interior of the roll toward the surface of the roll is formed.
