PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new nucleic acid molecule encoding Hevea isopentenyl diphosphoric acid (IPP) isomerase enzyme, and useful e.g. for producing the above enzyme which is separated from Hevea Brasillienses and is useful for the production of rubber or the like. SOLUTION: This new nucleic acid molecule encodes Hevea isopentenyl diphosphoric acid isomerase enzyme having the amino acid sequence of the formula, is separated from Hevea Brasillienses and is useful for the production of natural rubber (cis-1,4-polyisoprene) or the like. The new nucleic acid is obtained by extracting RNAs from latex exuded when Hevea Brasillienses was scratched by a knife, by separating a poly(A)+RNA from the RNAs, by producing a cDNA library of the latex using it in a usual way, by performing PCR using primers to obtain a partial IPP isomerase gene fragment from the library and by screening the library using a PCR product as a probe. |
