The invention relates to a cleaning and sterilizing machine for small objects such as closure elements of pharmaceutical containers. The inventive machine consists of a treatment receptacle (1) which is supported in a support (2) by means of a horizontal shaft (3) and which is pivotally mounted around the axis of said shaft (3). The treatment receptacle has a funnel-shaped upper part (6) that is provided with a filling and emptying opening (8) which is arranged therein and which can be closed by a valve (7). Feed and discharge lines (13, 14) which are provided for at least one treatment medium such as water, steam and pressurized air and which are supported by the shaft (3) are connected to said upper part. In order to additionally treat the cleaned small objects without transferring the same from the treatment receptacle (1) to a container, the invention provides that the shaft (3) has a carrying device (4) in which the treatment receptacle (1) can be detachably held, and the feed and discharge lines (13, 14) are detachably connected via couplings (10, 11) to valves (9, 10) arranged on the treatment receptacle (1). The treatment receptacle itself can be transported to the machine for additional treatment, and the objects can be directly fed from said treatment receptacle to the machine.
