TRANSMITTING VIEWABLE DATA OBJECTS

A network transmits viewable data objects to viewer receivers (8-11). The network includes a plurality of local servers (16-17) to store subsets of th e viewable data objects, a plurality of links to couple each local server (16- 17) to a set of viewer receivers (8-11) without coupling the viewer receiver s (8-11) together, and at least, one storage server. Each local server (16-17) transmits viewable data objects to viewer receivers. The storage server stor es the viewable data objects and transmits a subset of the stored data objects to the local servers responsive to different expected demands there present.
