PURPOSE: A foot stirrup for chair and a driving apparatus for the stirrup are provided to allow a user to significantly reduce fatigue in a convenient way while arranging the foot stirrup to be automatically received to a lower portion of the chair or desk. CONSTITUTION: A foot stirrup comprises foot stirrup plates(2,3,4,5) formed into an arc-shaped plate having a predetermined curvature in a folding direction, the stirrup plates being folded in multi-stages so as to be received to a lower portion of a chair; a foot stirrup plate moving unit consisting of first gears opposed to each other at both lower surfaces of the foot stirrup plates and second gears arranged onto both upper surfaces of the foot stirrup plates in such a manner as to be engaged with the first gear and allow the foot stirrup plates to be folded, the foot stirrup plate moving unit being arranged to prevent the stirrup plates from being slipped upon folding, and supporting members(10,11) arranged at the bottom most foot stirrup plate in such a manner as to buffer a shock caused by a contact between a wheel supporting the foot stirrup plate and the ground upon developing the foot stirrup plate.
