PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method and an inspection device for continuously non-contact-inspecting twist, short circuit, and break of each conductor strand directly before a laminate tape covering process of a tape electric wire, and surely conduct quality assurance of a constant size or long size tape electric wire. SOLUTION: An inspection device has a camera for photographing an arranging state of each conductor strand 101 every specified passing time installed between a first guide roller 1 and a second guide roller 2, each having grooves for carrying a plurality of conductor strands 101, an arithmetic unit 7 for converting image data obtained into binaries, and inspecting twist, overlap meandering, and break of the conductor strands is installed, and a marking device 10 distinguishably marking the surface of a defective generating section of a tape electric wire 100 after covering a laminate tape is installed.
