OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR, AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent stress and disconnection onto an optical fiber from being generated by rear end edges of a pressor member and an optical fiber aligning groove. SOLUTION: V-grooves 1a are formed in an aligning member 1 over the full length (A). A coated optical fiber 3 is held by a holding member 7 to expose a naked fiber 3a, and is lowered with an angleθ1 (B). The fiber 3a starts to contact with the V-groove 1a from a tip part of the aligning member 1, and is pressed by the pressor member 2 in a point where the naked fiber 3a contacts closely with the V-groove 1a upto a P-point in a more rear side than the rear end edge of the member 2 (C). The fiber 3a contacts closely with the V-groove 1a upto the P-point, and is separated gradually from the V-groove 1a in a rear side thereof while drawing a curved line. Since the fiber 3a is extended straightly upto the point P, local stress is prevented from being applied by the rear end edge of the pressor member 2. An adhesive 4 is applied to be cured, so as to manufacture an optical fiber connector (D).
