PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the frequency of changing set temperature on the basis of the change of the surrounding temperature and improve handleability by correcting, when a power source is turned on, the change of sensible temperature due to the change of the surrounding temperature, in a portable catalytic combustion device in which a liquefied fuel gas is subjected to catalytic combustion to utilize heat. SOLUTION: A temperature detector 4 detects the temperature at a combustion part 3 for producing heat by making a fuel gas undergo an oxidization reaction with air. The output signals from the temperature detector 4 and the output signals from a temperature setting portion 9 for setting the temperature of the combustion part 3 at an arbitrary temperature control level, are inputted to a controller 19. When a power source is turned on, the controller 19 selects a temperature control level of the combustion part 3 according to the temperature of the combustion part 3.
