An invention pertains to the mechanical engineering, particularly to horizontal hydraulic unit with water turbine. In order to utilize water power more efficiently, the turbine-wheel is located in that section of housing in which water flows in from charging pipe. The blades are offered to be formed as variable-incidence blades which operate surface can be controlled with regard to water inflow direction. Such lay-out diagram of hydraulic unit and usage of feeding pipe (7) allow to produce the electric energy in low-power hydroelectric station where difference between water levels before and after hydraulic unit is small.
